Maria H Ribeiro is Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical and Food Biotechnology at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisboa (FFUL). President of Pedagogical Council, FFUL. Coordinator of the Integrated Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences (MICF), FFUL. Member of the Scientific Committee of Doctoral Programs in Medicines and Pharmaceutical Innovation (FFUL) and Sustainability, ULisboa. Member of the Scientific Council of FFUL Masters Courses. Responsible for several pre and postgraduate courses at the MICF, Masters and Doctoral Programs.
Researcher at the Research Institute for Medicines (iMed.ULisboa) of FFULisboa, Group Leader of Pharmaceutical Bioengineering & Bioproducts Laboratory of iMed.ULisboa. Leads investigation exploring biotechnology processes to health promotion and disease prevention, focused on the design, development and characterization of new (bio)materials and bioactive compounds, using biocatalysis approaches, towards therapeutics (against infectious, cancer and neurodegenerative disease) and functional food.
Participation in several R&D projects (coordinator/integrated member) and pedagogic projects. Evaluator of research projects at international and national level and scientific articles.
Advisor and co-supervisor of several doctoral theses, master's degrees and internships in the field of Biotechnology. Author of multiple publications in peer-reviewed international journals, book chapters and communications in scientific meetings.
